Co-built by the Bureau international des Expositions (BIE) and Shanghai Municipal Government, the World Expo Museum is authorized as the sole official Museum and Documentation Center of the BIE.
World Expo Museum Pavilion, co-built by the BIE, World Expo Museum and Expo 2015 S.p.A., is an independent two-story pavilion with 500㎡ area, located in Bio-mediterraneum Cluster. This is the very first time for World Expo Museum to participate in an Expo as Non-Official Participant, and has an independent pavilion named by “World Expo Museum”.
The main display content of the WEM Pavilion is the “EXPO x EXPOS: the BIE’s Official Travelling Exhibition” with the theme of “Everything Begins With Expo”. The exhibition reflects the history of Expo since 1851 and introspects Expo's role in the promotion and combination of human culture and art in the perspective of human civilization and the World Expo.
EXPO x EXPOS is a platform to promote Expo knowledge and concept, which enables visitors to experience the immersive charm of Expo, enhances their understanding of Expo themes, and provokes their reflection of the Expo through the demonstration of Expo's huge contribution to contemporary society and the improvement of human life, as well as multi-dimensional showcase of the anecdotes of Expo pavilions and Expo exhibits.
Expo Milano 2015 is a shining pearl of the modern Expo, which inherits and interprets the theme of "sustainable development" of the modern Expo. Only by understanding the history of the World Expo, will visitors better experience the Milan Expo and interpret the underlining significance of “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”.
"Everything Begins With Expo" indicates Expo's deep understanding of human civilization and progress in the past century. The World Expo is not only the collector and displayer of the scientific achievements, but also the carrier and promoter of human civilization. World Expo Museum offers a comprehensive panorama of expos through an aerial perspective that facilitates investigation through the evolution of societies and cities, of national identities, of the development of industry and technologies, of the role of the arts and of the different axiomatic positions occurring in history.

Meanwhile the exhibition displays a series of classic wines and cuisine throughout the Expo history with some entertaining and interactive means, integrating with the theme of "food" in Milan Expo.
"EXPO x EXPOS" offers visitors an elegant and comfortable immersive environments through large amounts of scenes remodeling, strong visual graphic panels, window display of exhibits portfolio, and various multimedia exhibition items, assisted with the elegant museum-style lighting and a unified navy blue of BIE.
The exhibition is a combination of multi-media technology and traditional crafts. Physical Exhibits: openly displayed art installations; more than 40 models and sculptures associated with the World Expo history (Crystal Palace model, the Eiffel Tower model, etc.); and about 80 pieces of precious Expo manuscripts and documents are making their debut. Multi-media exhibits: visitors can fetch a pair of 3D glasses to enjoy 3D movies; there are clips about the Expo history embedded in the panels; various multimedia presentations offer visitors a visual and audio feast.
