Located at the southern end of the Cardo is the Open-Air Theater San Carlo. Dedicated to outdoor events, this area can accommodate up to 11,000 people, who can sit on the steps and on the grass to watch concerts, theater performances, and official ceremonies.
The roof over the stage area is covered with solar panels. As with the rest of the Expo Milano 2015 site, the Open-Air Theater San Carlo was created using the principles of Universal (or Inclusive) Design
To be performed in the Open air Theater San Carlo, ALLAVITA! is a show developed for Expo Milano 2015 by the Cirque du Soleil.
Inspired by the Expo’s theme: Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life, ALLAVITA! tells of a young boy, Leonardo, who is given a magic seed by his grandmother. From this seed springs an imaginary friend, Farro, who takes him on a spectacular journey where the watchwords are: amazement, courage, and hope.
The one-hour show will play from Wednesday to Sunday, from May to the end of August. Tickets
cost from 25 to 35 euro. Only Expo ticket-holders can attend the Cirque du Soleil show.
