Andrea Bocelli: the extraordinary voice that will be opening Expo Milano 2015
A world-famous voice, performing music that brings together cultures, places, and hearts. Andrea Bocelli is the perfect choice to open the event that will host over 140 countries from around the world: Expo Milano 2015.
At the opening ceremony on April 30, the renowned tenor and Ambassador Extraordinary of Expo Milano 2015, will perform the song that he has dedicated to the Universal Exhibition. Entitled “ La forza del sorriso” (The Power of a Smile), it speaks of smiles as offering a precious form of nourishment for humanity.
"I wanted to write lyrics that invite people to smile. The smile is perhaps the scarcest of things these days," said the tenor.
The Andrea Bocelli Foundation at Expo Milano 2015: mind, body, and heart
Andrea Bocelli’s plans for 2015 continue with his participation at Expo Milano 2015, through the Andrea Bocelli Foundation
. This was established to build relationships, share emotions, and strengthen the bonds of trust that he has created over the years, and continues to create with so many people around the world: to smile together.
The Andrea Bocelli Foundation is part of Civil Society, and aims to bring to public attention the excellence of Italian and international scientific and technological research that contributes to make the world a better place.
The Foundation was established to help people that find themselves in difficulty due to illness, poverty, or social exclusion. The Foundation promotes and supports projects in Italy and in developing countries, in particular Haiti, assisting people to overcome these difficulties and be able to express their full potential.
Mind, body, and heart, are the cornerstones of the Foundation. They each need nourishment and, in turn feed our being, and our actions.
