The event closes the participation of the Ministry of Health in Expo Milano 2015 after over a hundred meetings and workshops in the “Women’s space (Me and We-Women for Expo)” and in the “School’s space” of the Italian Pavilion, at the center of the information campaign on nutrition and food security “Eat healthy, invest in health.” The event, chaired by the Minister of Health Beatrice Lorenzin will be attended by 20 Ministers of Health, 40 delegations from countries around the world. Over 60 speakers will enliven the seven sessions, scheduled over the two days.
The Minister will open the works on the first day and five sessions will then take place after the greetings of the authorities. On the second day, only in the morning, there will be two sessions, including a roundtable with the Ministers of Health, and the closing speech by Minister Lorenzin. At the end of the second day, at 13:00 hours, there will be the signing of the Milan Charter by the Ministers of Health and by the Heads of the Delegations.
A press conference will take place at the Me and We-Women for Expo space (near Palazzo Italia) at 14:00 for the presentation of one of the legacies of the participation of the Ministry of Health in Expo Milano 2015. In fact, the Ministry of Health and associations of the food, advertising and trade sectors will sign two Memoranda of Understanding to promote proper nutrition for children. The new volume of the Quaderni published by the Ministry of Health and dedicated to food issues: “Feeding the Planet, feeding it healthy,” an actual “guide to nutritional balance”, will be introduced.
